And tonight, as I sat around I wondered why something made out of vanilla would be called chocolate. So I looked it up on the awesomeness that is Wikipedia<\/a>.<\/p>\n White chocolate<\/a> isn’t made out of vanilla at all. It’s made of cocoa, just like normal chocolate. The only difference is that it’s made of cocoa butter<\/a> instead of cocoa solids. This means it cannot be marketed as chocolate in most countries, but it’s not made of vanilla. In fact, white chocolate is itself regulated in the US (since 2004) as 20% cocoa butter (by weight), at least 14% total milk solids, at least 3.5% milk fat, and less than 55% sugar or other sweeteners.
