Note to self: electrical fires are bad.<\/p>\n
So KC and I, with a lot<\/b> of work, got the carburetor out and apart tonight. The jets are now soaking in carb cleaning fluid.<\/p>\n
But while dismantling pieces of the bike, we might have had a small spark that might have caught a wire on fire which might have melted 2 feet of a think bunch of wires. And we might have just drained the carbs leaving a lot of gasoline on the engine causing us to be dangerously close to blowing up.<\/p>\n
So ya know… 1 step forward, 1.5 steps back. Oops.<\/p>\n
At one point I thought the whole thing was going to explode. But luckily for us, it didn’t, and I’m here typing this. It turns out, after much mucking through melted plastic, that it looks like the damage is relatively self-contained, and replacing the wires in question will not be impossible. It’ll just take most of an afternoon. Luckily, after some basic testing, it doesn’t appear any actual electronic equipment was damaged.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
