It was a good conference, lots of good talks. But I won’t bore you with geeky stuff.

At the same time and in the same venue, there was a Christian Cheearleading conference. That’s right, a Christian Cheerleading conference. I’m not sure if this is those Jesus Freaks who cheer for God, or if they’re just a gathering of cheerleaders who also happen to be Jesus Freaks. The girls ranged from… about eight years old all the way to eighteen. I’m not sure if any of them were actually 18 – but a select few were probably high school seniors, giving them a good chance of being legal.

So there were a bunch of girls, in very short tops and very short skirts, who were either barely legal, or jail bait. So half of them couldn’t legally have sex with any of us. And since they’re obviously exteremely proud of their faith, all of them are probably against pre-marital sex anyway (a concept I still find baffling). Now, I love and respect my girlfriend, and wouldn’t even dream of cheating on her (nor would I want to), but still, being surrounded by hundreds of them was a bit like torture.

In addition to underage, underdressed Jesus Freaks, there were also a lot of annoying math teachers for a math conference. And I thought SCALE was geeky, damn. They made us look smooth. Amazingly, most of the people I knew at SCALE had girlfriends or wives, so it didn’t really matter – but those math dorks made us look studly!

OK, I haven’t slept in quite a while, so I’m off. ‘Night.

So I attended SCALE this weekend.
