But lets start with prior to the election.

Many states now have online-voter-registration. California is one. So I go online knowing the deadline to change my address is nearing and fill out the online form and click “submit.” Ya know what happens? They give me a filled-out form to print and mail in. HOW THE FUCK IS THAT AN ONLINE REGISTRATION??? Seriously, folks. I didn’t think this was such a hard concept. What on earth is the point of online voter registration if you just print it out?? But then again, one might feel the need to point out that The Terminator is our governor.

But I will point out that the idiocy that has such a firm grip on this state significantly pre-dates him. When I lived in Florida, we all felt our state was so behind. Yet, when you walked into the DMV, you took the “written” test on a computer, got your results from that computer, and they printed your license then and there. Same in GA from what I understand. In California you take a written, which the mostly-illiterate DMV lady grades based on a grade-sheet. She then gives you a computer print out that says “well, you can drive, but this isn’t really a license.” And they tell you your license will show up in a month or two. If you question this, they tell you it gets made up Sacramento. Great. One place for all the licenses. The state that bought more Oracle licenses than any corporation ever can’t figure out what a bottle-neck is. We’re supposed to be the cutting-edge west.

Anyway, so my voter registration wasn’t updated and I voted based on an address from three moves ago. Guess what? When you vote, it’s on punch cards. Surprisingly, I’m not against this. I don’t think this nation is ready for electronic voting. Our government doesn’t understand the internet, much less the complex issue of network and systems security. I don’t suspect the elections in Florida were accurate. At all.

BUT… at least Florida has early voting. You just request an early ballot and vote away. No waiting in line on election day. Does California have that? Of course not.

Moving right along to my last point, Kerry sucks. He really does. His campaign was horrible. He never talked about what he would do. His campaign was based on “I’m not Bush.” Which is a great start. But I think this is part of what cost him the election. That said, I’m shocked he lost. As bad as Kerry is, Bush is a million times worse. I can NOT believe this country is so fucking full of retards as to think this man can lead a country — much less think that he HAS led this country. So ignore for the moment the Afghanistan war and UN thing. The right/wrong there is debatable. But then to carry the war into Iraq under the umbella of 9/11? Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11!! Repeat after me folks: Iraq is not the same country as Afghanistan! Bin Laden is not the same person as Hussein!

But Bush doesn’t know that. That right there, to me, makes him the worst candidate by far. On top of that, this lunatic wants prayer in school. Has he even read our Constitution? He’s not a Christian. I know lots of Christians. He’s a Jesus Freak. He’s like one of those wackos that stood outside the Metallica and San Francisco Symphony Orchestra concert and picketed.

He’s adamantly pro-life. We’ve had previous pro-life officials, but not ones that were out to set laws on it. This psycho will do it. And he’ll have the support! On top of that, he not only supports the PATRIOT act (which Kerry does as well), but he supports the extreme parts of it (which Kerry doesn’t), and doesn’t see any need for reform of it (which Kerry does). Great. Make my job illegal. Thanks, asshole.

He’s also adamantly against same-sex marriage – enough so to try very hard to pass legislation outlawing it. Oh joy. That’s what I want my president doing: wasting his time with caring about who wants to be in love with whom. Get our fucking troops out of the country that had nothing to do with 9/11, decrease our defecit, and stop spying on me, you worthless piece of inbred horse shit!

And last of all, but certainly not least, the man can’t fucking speak English!! Have you heard him speak? He sounds like a 4-year-old with a chocolate bar in his mouth! He’s got the IQ of a bumble-bee!

And this damn country voted him in for another 4 years. Jon Steward was joking the other night that it was the midwest getting New York and California back for Will & Grace, Queer Eye For the Straight Guy, and reality TV. They want Bonanza back, and this is our punishment for taking it away. Heh.

So lets summarize here: prayer in school, no abortions, no gay marriage, my job made illegal, and the rest of the world realizing it wasn’t a screw-up four years, we really are the dumbest nation in existance. How is this better than.. oh, a squirrel being the president?

The only good news in all of this is Ashcroft may be stepping down. Not that he won’t likely be replaced with someone just as evil, but I’ll still be happy to have him gone.

Line stolen from my friend, Jason.
