When I found out Tim Burton was redoing Charley and the Chocolate Factory, I was slightly worried.<\/p>\n

See, I love Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. It was my favorite book as a child. I didn’t find out about the original movie until I was much older, but ever since I found it, I loved that too. I still have the book as well as Charlie and the Great Glass Elevator, from when I was young and they are beaten to all hell.<\/p>\n

Don’t get me wrong, I like Tim Burton’s work. A lot. Admittedly, I was a bit more concerned when I found out Johnny Depp was playing Wonka. Now I love Depp. He’s a fabulous actor. (The fact that I’ve had a lot of women tell me I look like him doesn’t hurt either). He’s done a lot of amazing things. But this was one role I really wasn’t sure about. I mean really, how could anyone compete with Gene Wilder for that<\/i> role?<\/p>\n

Anyway, the uber-trippy trailer for Burton’s version just came out and you can find that and more at the movie’s site here<\/a>. I must say that, as usual, I’m blown away by Johnny Depp. The trailer doesn’t show much, but the few bits of him you see are really quite impressive. I’m actually really excited to see this movie!<\/p>\n

My only concern now, given the mood of the trailer (which I think is appropriate, don’t get me wrong), is that I’ll have to share a theater with 100 morons that are tripping and\/or stoned. ::sigh::<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
